Baking a lot lately

I've been having fun the past 2 months making sugar cookies for Valentines and paczki for Fat Tuesday. I even made some donuts that were similar to Krispy Kreme's as my younger son is just crazy for them. I also tried a gluten free bread mix from Bob's Red Mill that was pretty good too.

I found the book Patisserie at Home by Will Torrent at Joann's recently and just had to have it.  Today I made the coffee and chocolate madeleines and "boy!" are they good!

These are great and a very tasty treat for after dinner when I'm craving chocolate and coffee. They really are easy to make and I learned a new trick for future baking endeavors on how to make what is called "beurre noisette". It gives your butter a golden brown color and adds a nutty flavor to the batter. It smells wonderful too!

I'm really looking forward to baking more goodies from this book.  Hope to post again soon. Until then, happy baking and crafting!
